140 Characters - Games of Tomorrow

If you would like your own cartoon character logo by Ric, they are just £50 gbp (paypal) and will be delivered via email in hi-res .png format for use on PC/Mac and other systems. Once the logo is created you will be free to use it however you like.

If I reach the 140 character goal total I will also be working on some special merchandise including posters and books etc. (like pokemon/moshi monsters etc.) to promote the characters and all the businesses they represent. Of course you don't need to have/run a business to take part, characters can be created for all kinds of individuals and hobbies or even just for fun or a present for a loved one!

If interested you can email Ric direct at: info @ puttycad.co.uk (no spaces)

New logo and part of an ambitious project.

I decided it was time for a new Putty CAD logo which I'm planning on using on business cards and the like. Having been asked for a couple of other logos by people I know on twitter, I decided to start a new project... "140 Characters" where I will draw 140 different mascots for individuals and businesses which I will then hopefully publish in a book with links to their websites, blogs, business sites and/or twitter accounts. You can read about the project on my personal blog... http://riclumb.blogspot.com/

140 Characters Project - Get your own cartoon logo

It's time to announce my new project. 140 CHARACTERS. The idea sprung to mind when I was designing a new logo for my Putty CAD games design business and chatting to people on twitter (which as lots of people know uses 140 characters of text). I thought it would be fun to create 140 cartoon characters to represent peoples businesses and/or sites with logos which can be used for profiles on Twitter/Facebook, Google+ or anywhere they are needed online. as well as creating the logos I'm looking at partnering with merchandise manufacturers and promotions people to allow the logos to be turned into promotional items and/or give-aways for businesses.

If you would like your own cartoon character logo by Ric, they are just £50 gbp (paypal) and will be delivered via email in hi-res .png/jpg format for use on PC/Mac and other systems. Once the logo is created you will be free to use it however you like.

If I reach the 140 character goal total I will also be working on some special merchandise including posters and books etc. (think pokemon/moshi monsters etc.) to promote the characters and all the businesses they represent. Of course you don't need to have/run a business to take part, characters can be created for all kinds of individuals and hobbies or even just for fun or a present for a loved one!

These are the first logos as examples to get the ball rolling! If interested you can email Ric direct at: info @ puttycad.co.uk (no spaces)

My daughter is making a game.

My daughter Charlotte is wanting to make her own game! :D   I discussed a few ideas with her and she wants to make a game about a bogey. (WIP title: Bogey Man)

The main character is a freshly picked bogey who has to make his way through school to get to the bogey farm under the head-teachers chair. He has to avoid the dirty lickle boys who want to eat him! EWWW!

she had a great idea that instead of lots of different types of enemy the dirty lickle boys would have different costumes, like ghosts and vampires for halloween.

We're going to use a program I stumbled across yesterday called "Construct 2" so we can post it to the site as html5 (hopefully - will need to test to see if this is possible using blogger as our page)

IPhone Game: Off The Hook released into the wild!

Wormy and his friends were hanging out at the beach watching fireworks when a fisherman snatched them up and took them fishing. They're hoping you'll help set them free!
Choose to play in the Quick Dip Arcade and face easy, medium, and hard level challenges, or take on The Deep Sea Adventure and guide Wormy through an increasingly complex 50 levels of game-play.
Simple play mechanic where you tap the screen and guide Wormies safely to the top, dodging a variety of fish along the way.

A simple game that anybody can play with increasing difficulty and variation. Hope you enjoy it! ;)

Mobile Conduit App builder - update - Working on Android!

So it took a few days for approval but the app is now working as an .apk file for Android.

I've just done a few tweaks and resubmitted it as it was coming up as "First App" instead of "Putty CAD", so hopefully I've fixed that, but understandably had to resubmit for approval.

The Conduit Mobile site marketing tools aren't working yet, but when they are I should be able to generate links and codes to share the app.

For a free tool, it seems to do the intended job and I hope things go well for them so they can offer more features etc.

Mobile Conduit App builder - update

Been a few days since I built the test app and it's not showing as approved yet. Unfortunately the MC website is still under construction so there's no forum or anything yet to discuss things with other users. Will just have to wait and see what happens.

Android App Test using Mobile Conduit's free app builder

Today I made an Android app which takes content from this website http://www.puttycad.co.uk and shows latest updates etc.

I used an online app generator called Mobile Conduit. Fairly easy to use, although still in Beta, so some functions and marketing tools etc. aren't totally implemented yet.   Did I mention the service is FREE! For that alone I thought it was worth playing around with and was pleased with the results.

the Android apps have to go through and approval process to go on the Market but hopefully that shouldn't be a problem. Until I find out if it's up, here's a link to the test web version and a pic of it on my Android phone using the Conduit Preview App. The iPhone App process requires you to have a Mac and an iTunes developer account before you can submit the app for approval.

Monday 14 February 2011

Realised I haven't updated this in a long time. Been busy and also distracted from here by Twitter etc.

Remember to check out Games.com for the popular Ice Breakers & Ice Breakers: Penguin Pirates, both games are complete, fully playable and TOTALLY FREE to enjoy. Please play them and tell your friends to play them lots and lots and lots. :D
